Charity / Fundraising
Barwells have a long established reputation for supporting local charities and not-for-profit organisations.
We are invested in the well-being of our community and are committed to making a positive impact.
Barwells are proud to support local charities such as Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, an animal rescue and sanctuary based in Lewes, East Sussex. Raystede provide rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and sanctuary to both pets and farm animals.
Today we met with Mikayla Bernstein and the team from Raystede, and donated £1,300 to help support this amazing charity’s running costs.
✨ It was an honour to be a part of the St Wilfrid’s Hospice Charity Champion Awards 2024.
🏆 We are delighted to share that Barwells Director Sophie Maloney won the ‘Individual Champion’ award. Barwells were also one of the runners-up in the ‘Long Standing Champion’ category.
🥂 We had a wonderful evening at The View Hotel in Eastbourne, celebrating the support that local businesses give St Wilfrid’s Hospice, with great food and entertainment.
Yesterday Barwells attended a very special event at the DoubeTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole for the Best of British Gala Dinner, in aid of Martlets Hospice. Guest speaker was legendary Super Star DJ, Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim! We shared a table with Madison Solutions. What a great evening.
We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Newhaven leg of the 2024 RNLI 911 Challenge the ‘Last Blast’, to raise funds for a much-needed D-Class Lifeboat, marking the 200th anniversary of the RNLI.
It was great to meet James and Belinda today, who are driving clockwise around the whole of the UK & Ireland, visiting ALL 238 RNLI Lifeboat Stations IN 911 HOURS!!! That is over 8,500 miles!
Wishing James and Belinda all the best for the remainder of their challenge. If you would like to donate you can do so here https://rnli-911challenge.co.uk/
We visited St Wilfrid’s Hospice yesterday and were very proud to learn that last year Barwells Solicitors raised £399,697 through the Free Will Scheme and legacies left to the Hospice by our clients.
A HUGE thank you to everyone that came out to our Hailsham and Eastbourne offices to support our Charity Cake Sales. Between both of our offices, we raised over £360, which will be donated to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Barwells are proud to support local charities such as East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS), a front line rescue service to help people who find sick, injured and orphaned wildlife across East Sussex. Today we met with Trevor Weeks (and a rather friendly hedgehog) from East Sussex WRAS and donated £2,500 to support this charity’s running costs.
